Spending Quality Time with Danielle & Make up

Now that Danielle is back to being the only kid in the house. I started making sure she feels special. In the summer I have Friday's off.  So every Friday this month we have been spending the entire day together doing something.  The first friday we went to the movies to see Diary of a Wimpy kid. To hear Danielle crack up at this movie made me smile and laugh. She was funnier than the movie to me.  Here she is as we waited for them to turn the lights on in the theater before the movie started (we were a bit early due to being to late for the earlier show).

Last Friday we went to the nail salon in the morning and then to the MAC Style Seeker Makeover at King of Prussia Mall. The latter was more of a treat for me but hey I am sure Danielle enjoyed it too.

We also stopped by Old Navy and took advantage of their summer sale and got few summer items for Danielle.

Here is a few more shots of Danielle and I at the mac Event, the first photo is the photo they took at the event (which was spectacular by the way) and the second is one I took myself with my blackberry.
I sent these pics to hubby and he approved of my new lip gloss purchase...lol.  I purchased the Hidden Treasue Blush and the Restlee Lip Gloss... I may go back and get the eyeshadow next month we shall see. Here are the items I purchased:

She used these products from the newline on my eyes. This rich ground (just a repromote not new) paintpot..i really like this sort of forgot she used this....the only paintpot I have is reubenesque which is really gold...this rich ground is very natural really would be a nice neutral for me.

We Miss AJ

My nephew AJ left to go back home with his mom and sisters. It's been a month since he's been gone.  My husband took it the hardest. It tugs my heart when all the kids that played with him ask where's AJ.  I miss him and we love him just like he was our own.  It has been an interesting almost 2 1/2 years glad we did it helped us in our journey and I love my nephew-son to death.  Here are some pictures of our fun times with AJ.

We love you AJ!!!! see you soon :)

Wedding Invitations

I completed my first order for member of my church for her wedding. I was so hyped about this and excited for the opportunity. But man had no idea how much time it would take to complete them. Since I am a one woman show at the moment I need to think simple when doing this the next time. There were so many pieces and so much cutting involved. I didn't consider that. I love the design of what I can up with. It was just very time consuming.

So since I received my invitation in the mail and think it is fair to say I can post it on my blog.

Getting ready for a Women's Luncheon

I am getting a table at a Women's Luncheon. So now that things in life have slowed down a bit I am working on getting my card stash back. Tonight was my first attempt at getting ready for the luncheon. While watching two of my favorite shows the Mary Mary reality show and Scandal (i love both of these shows soooo much) I created these two cards.

I love the leopard print flowers I found in AC Moore. I should have bought all of them. Smh. The pattern paper is of course one of my all time faves Basic Grey.

Student of the Month

For the last 8 months we have been wondering if Danielle would actually get Student of the Month. Month after Month we wondered. What is the criteria for Student of the month? Especially after seeing it on the school calendar listed according to classroom number. Danielle grumbled many a day "how come I never get student of the month?". I said maybe it has something to do with attendance. She missed at least 3 or 4 days of school over the 3 marking period. So that's what we assumed. Until yesterday! She came home with a student of the month certificate tucked away nicely in her bag. She was so excited she forgot to tell us about it Lol. I asked her how was her day as usual. And she said good. I ask anything special happen at school. She said no. I remembered she had the awards assembly that day so I asked her did she get her honor roll certificate and she said something about the teacher having to do it over. Then she screams. Oh mommy I forget. I got Student of the Month. So proud of this little girl. She is the best kid a mother could ask for.

Pinterest meets Instagram

So I posted the creations I made for Danielle's teacher to Instagram after I created them. My online friend Ms. Mel asked me to post them to pinterest so I did. Look at all the love I got. I was so excited. It really made me smile :)

Happy New Year! Happy 2012!

Thankful to see another day!! Thankful to see another year. Just glad I have another day to get it right!
I am looking to the Author and Finisher of my faith to guide and direct my steps this year, this day. Our steps are ordered by God anyway, good steps and bad. He has us all in the palm of His hands.

God bless all of you! Here are some pictures of the family:

As you can see I fell of on the thirty days of blogging. I am working out a plan to update you all regularly.  I do want you to know that my Danielle is on the Honor Roll and is being tested for the mentally gifted program. My hubby and I are super proud of her. She's even passing on some of her knowledge to my nephew who amazes me daily with some of the things he says and does.

I was on vacation the last week of 2011. The first two days after Christmas I did nothing but sleep.  I couldn't believe I was that tired. That's what happens when you haven't had a day off from work since August. I enjoyed my time at home with the family. I even got in a little girl time in at the makeup counter with my friend Stephanie and think we got this foundation/concelaer thing worked out. What do you think?
Good match right?

After we came in from visiting family on New Year's Day I actually sat down and created some cards. I made one the day before for my cousin I guess that jump started the creativity. I created 31/2 cards using the same pattern paper and added some stickles to dress them up.  Here is a picture of two of them completed.
Talk to you soon. Thanks for reading. Also if you are on Philly and know of a reasonable one day crop that happens once a month let me know.  I want to get hooked up with a crop that's close to home so I can create more frequently.

Thirty Days of Blogging Day 4

Day 04- A habit that you wish you didn't have

I have a bad habit of not saying no.  i don't use it enough. i am working on that though. I tend to stretch myself way too thin.  I have put this on the altar and am, working with God's help to use wisdom in all that i attach myself to. i don't want to be burnt out nor do I what to do so much that nothing i do is right. i know I am not the only one that struggles with this, so what have you or someone you know to get this habit under control?

Thanks for reading!

Danielle is 7!...and 30 Day of Blogging - Day 2

I cannot let the day go by without wishing my darling daughter Danielle a Happy 7th Birthday!!!

We have a fun weekend planned for the little one and her friends. We can't wait to celebrate such a wonderful little girl!!
Day 02- The meaning behind your Blogger name
My blogger name hmmm, well I wanted my name to represent who I am and what I believe.  So I thought of this Living According to the Master's Plan.  Daily I am striving to line my life up to the word and be all that God wants me to be as wife, mother, sister, friend.  As the scripture says in the Message Bible Philippians 3:12-14... I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.
I am not perfect. I strive to live as Christ would have me to live and be an example to those around me.  So there you have it, my reasoning for naming my blog Living According to the Master's Plan.

Danielle's Kindergarten Graduation

This past June Danielle graduated for Kindergarten. She had a great year. My husband and I and all her family were so proud of her and how well she did this first year of formal schooling. You will find below pictures from that day and our dinner afterwards. She also received one the the four awards given out that
night. My babygirl is athletic!!!

This is the same dress she wore to her Uncle Keith's wedding. A great Burlington Coat Factory find of 23.99. My sis Deanna is always shopping for a bargain!!!The sweater came from another dress and it was perfect

Playing Catch Up

I am going to take a couple of days and highlight the big things in the months I have missed. Yes can you believe its been months..smh

May 2011
The Wedding was wonderful. Bookmarks were well received.  Danielle did an awesome job as a flower and she was sooo cute!!! see:
She was a flowergirl along with my niece Bethany. They are such beautiful little girls inside and out.

My husband and I were in the wedding as well. Here we are on the dance Floor. I love this picture!!
Here are the favors I made...Bookmarks with Romans 12:10-18 printed on them, ribbong and a heart bling. Very simple. They were inspired by the wedding invitations.

And now a picture of the lovely couple:

I also sung on the spot at the wedding.  My father in law who performed the ceremony asked me to sing a little bit of the Lord's Prayer.  So with no mic and very little preparation I belted out the ending to the Lord's Prayer "For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and Glory, Forever Amen" from what I understand it was well received. One of my young cousins came up to me after the ceremony and said you made me cry.

It was great wedding. Wishing Lysette and Keith all the best in their new life together.
Now I must get to work on the thank you notes!!!
