Funny Story

So a couple of weeks ago my daughter, my husband and I were watching TBN just seeing who was on their Praise the Lord program. I was explaining to my husband our daughters interpretations of our complexions. She says my husband is black, I am white and she is brown. Okay I wanted to make sure she wasn't just saying I was white, so there was a singer on the program named Vicki Yohe, who is white, so I turn to my daughter and ask her what color was the lady singing on the TV, she says...Mommy she's white just like you. LOL. As you all can tell from my previous posts my daughter and I are very much the same complexion, but can you tell me why she thinks I'm white and she's brown??? Kids! Here's proof.

You know my kids did that too. I think it is a normal phase of growing up as an African American child and an example of how ridiculous the whole light/medium/dark skin emphasis is in the end. I told my little one that no matter what I'm still her momma and she's still my baby!

By the way your daughter looks just like you! She is so precious!
