We now have a 6 year old in the house

Here she is having fun in the park attempting to climb the monkey bars...She wasn't as jubilant after trying.  She really wants to climb the monkey bars but is very afraid and gives up way to quickly.  Well we will keep at it, maybe by 7 she'll be ready..

She started school this fall and as I began to think about her starting school all my concerns and feelings spilled onto to this scrapbook page. I had done it for a challenge but never posted because I had never in my life wrote so much on a page.  I am glad to report that I know my prayers for my daughter are heard and are being answered every day!!! Happy Birthday Danielle!!! I LOVE YOU!!!  This Danielle three years ago wearing my shoes.

thanks for looking!

Paper Craft Star Challenge

This card was a challenge in my brain. Take a look at the sketch  on the Paper Craft Star Challenge Blog.
Here is what I came up with:
The sentiment reads: "Each one of us is God's special work of art. - Toni Eareckson Tada -
This sentiment is so true!!! You and I are special!! Thanks for looking!
Oh I almost forgot be sure to stop back tomorrow. I have some exciting news to share..I Can't wait!!!!

Verve Stamp Sketch VSWCMD2

I really enjoyed making using this sketch. Although I don't like layering as much as most people. Take a look at the sketch I used and the others by visiting Verve Stamps.  Here is my take:
The sentiment reads "Be Still and I know that I am God." Psalm 46:10
I finished the card and took pic and remembered I had some red bling. Glad I did I really like the way the red makes the card pop.

Card Patterns Sketch 84

Take a look at the sketch on The Card Patterns blog. Here is my take:

The sentiment reads: "My presence will go with thee; and I will give thee rest." Exodus 33:14 -
What an encouraging word!
I will be using the sketch again as well. Again I used only scraps to make this card. Thanks for looking!

World Cardmaking Day

I know it was Saturday and I did make some cards and well some bookmarks. The funny thing is I have been making cards all week! Surprising huh? Well here they are:

These first two cards are made with scraps. I'm on a mission to get rid of my scraps so I plan on doing this for the rest of the year or until they are gone down to at least one container. I am not going to tell you how many containers I have of just scraps. Try using your scraps from your layouts to make a card when you are done with your layout. Tiare of Scrapnfit introduced me to this technique.

The card below was inspired by Twisted Sketches #026

Did you notice a pattern? I learned a new technique. My friend showed me how to ruffle ribbon. I was getting my practice in. You know how it is when you learn a new technique, you do it until you get tired. Am I the only person that does that?

And here are the bookmarks aren't they cute? These were made with all scraps in addition to the shipping tag.

This tag/bookmark below was inspired by a pagemaps tag sketch. You can find it here

welp that's all folks!

ATC

Artist Trading Cards are miniature works of art created on 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch. I am participating in a swap over at Urban Scrappers. We are doing the alphabet and I chose the letter N. I used the word Need and found quotes and attached the quotes to the ATCs. Here are my ATCs that were sent in the mail today.

He'll be Leading the Angels in this War Cry Now!!!

Gone but he will never be forgotten for the words he spoke and this here praise that rings in our churches today. Rest in Peace Bishop Kenneth Moales, Sr.! Join me as I pray for his family and church family during this difficult time.

A Lost Gem

My brother sent me a photo the other day that made me smile and a little sad at the same time. It was a picture of my mother and stepfather on their wedding day we believe. I miss my mom so much. I wish she was still here with us. I don't miss the man beside her for various reasons, but would like to know where in the world he is. That's a story for another day, but so glad to have a picture to share of my mom.

My Weekend

On Friday I stayed up until 6:00 am Scrapbooking over the phone with my girls Kisha and my girl Kim. We did a lot of chatting. And I actually got some stuff done. Lookie here:

I also made a card:

And all day Saturday I rested. Was about to go out but discovered that my keys were missing. My husband found them in one of our couches. Thank God he found them.

Church on Sunday was excellent! We came home and I cooked dinner and we just relaxed. I received some sad news via Twitter. Bishop Walter Hawkins had died and man I instantly started crying like I actual knew. Well I felt like I did I had been listening to his music since I was a kid. Love his music and his voice!
Here is a video of his last performance this year. Singing one of my favorite songs by home Marvelous.

Blessed me so much wished I could have been playing in the Viola section on this one.
