Thirty Days of Blogging Day 4

Day 04- A habit that you wish you didn't have

I have a bad habit of not saying no.  i don't use it enough. i am working on that though. I tend to stretch myself way too thin.  I have put this on the altar and am, working with God's help to use wisdom in all that i attach myself to. i don't want to be burnt out nor do I what to do so much that nothing i do is right. i know I am not the only one that struggles with this, so what have you or someone you know to get this habit under control?

Danielle is 7!...and 30 Day of Blogging - Day 2

I cannot let the day go by without wishing my darling daughter Danielle a Happy 7th Birthday!!!

We have a fun weekend planned for the little one and her friends. We can't wait to celebrate such a wonderful little girl!!
Day 02- The meaning behind your Blogger name
My blogger name hmmm, well I wanted my name to represent who I am and what I believe.  So I thought of this Living According to the Master's Plan.  Daily I am striving to line my life up to the word and be all that God wants me to be as wife, mother, sister, friend.  As the scripture says in the Message Bible Philippians 3:12-14... I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.
I am not perfect. I strive to live as Christ would have me to live and be an example to those around me.  So there you have it, my reasoning for naming my blog Living According to the Master's Plan.

Danielle's Kindergarten Graduation

This past June Danielle graduated for Kindergarten. She had a great year. My husband and I and all her family were so proud of her and how well she did this first year of formal schooling. You will find below pictures from that day and our dinner afterwards. She also received one the the four awards given out that
night. My babygirl is athletic!!!

This is the same dress she wore to her Uncle Keith's wedding. A great Burlington Coat Factory find of 23.99. My sis Deanna is always shopping for a bargain!!!The sweater came from another dress and it was perfect

Playing Catch Up

I am going to take a couple of days and highlight the big things in the months I have missed. Yes can you believe its been months..smh

May 2011
The Wedding was wonderful. Bookmarks were well received.  Danielle did an awesome job as a flower and she was sooo cute!!! see:
She was a flowergirl along with my niece Bethany. They are such beautiful little girls inside and out.

My husband and I were in the wedding as well. Here we are on the dance Floor. I love this picture!!
Here are the favors I made...Bookmarks with Romans 12:10-18 printed on them, ribbong and a heart bling. Very simple. They were inspired by the wedding invitations.

And now a picture of the lovely couple:

I also sung on the spot at the wedding.  My father in law who performed the ceremony asked me to sing a little bit of the Lord's Prayer.  So with no mic and very little preparation I belted out the ending to the Lord's Prayer "For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and Glory, Forever Amen" from what I understand it was well received. One of my young cousins came up to me after the ceremony and said you made me cry.

It was great wedding. Wishing Lysette and Keith all the best in their new life together.
Now I must get to work on the thank you notes!!!

I am also in the process of making bookmarks for the bil's wedding in 12 days! Go Keith & Lysette!!!  Here is a layout I did of them after their engagement party this year...(well at least I think it was this year) I will post a picture of the favors after the wedding.. Aren't they the cutest, plus they are two of Danielle's favorite people!

Twisted Sketches - Sketch 57

Here is my take on this weeks Sketch. I actually made two cards, but the other one got a lil messed up when I was inking it.  Have you ever put too much ink in you ink pad.. well that's what happened to the second one. I will share it below.

Supplies: Cardstock: Stampin up!; Pattern Paper: Basic Grey; Felt Flower: Making Memories; Buttons: Anna Griffin; Pearls: Recollections; Sticker: Colorblok; Martha Stewart Edge Punch.

This one didn't make the cut. Why? Well like I said above the ink pad had too much ink.  I thought the stamp also was not good for this card, I should have tested it out first but I didn't I used Sassafrass Lass. So what do you think about this card? Is it bad?

Take a look at what my other Twisted Sisters have done with this sketch.

thanks for looking!

Layouts to share

I haven't created a layout since October well that was until last week.  Since I am on the Twisted Sketches Design Team that's all I have been making is cards.  So I finally broke that pattern last week. This first layout is my niece Laila with her outfit she wore to a photo shoot. I hope to get my hands on the photos from that shoot to make her a mini album. This girl has so much character and charisma. Praying for a bright future for her. I completed this one last night or shall i say this morning..lol
Supplies: pattern paper: crate caper - paper doll collection, Glitter glue; cardstock:bazzill

Tribute to Danielle's favorite boots. we saw them awhile back and weren't able to get them and I kinda forgot about them. One day we were shopping for a reward for her not sucking her thumb in school and we found these.  We get in the the car she immediately puts them on.
Supplies: pattern paper: crate paper - paperdoll collection; bling: recollections; cardstock: bazzill

Here is a layout in tribute to my Mama who would I have been 58 today. I miss her so!

To balance my card making with my layouts I have submitted some design team applications. Hoping to hear some good news soon. If not I'll keep trying.
